Cancer is a global problem. In 2020, an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases occurred. Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020.
However, we know now, that between 30 and 50% of cancers can be prevented by avoiding risk factors and implementing evidence-based prevention strategies. We can reduce this burden also through the early detection of cancer and appropriate treatment and care of patients who develop cancer. Thanks to modern, evidence-based medicine, many cancers have a high chance of cure if diagnosed early and treated appropriately.
In view of these alarming statistics, but also in the light of knowledge, Alivia aims to use our experience, gained during over a decade,to support patients not only in Poland, but also internationally.
We believe that a day will come when even advanced cancer will become completely curable, and its cruel nature will be only a memory, like cholera, plague and many other, initially fatal and terrible diseases for humanity. We will strive to provide people in different countries with cancer the tools they need to benefit from the achievements of world medicine and win against the disease every day. We will give them courage.
